Consummate storyteller Josh Healey emcees our fall show featuring Reyna Amaya, Julie Soller, Joshua Walters, and returning favorite Kari Kiernan.  Audience members can drop their name in a hat to tell a one-minute story in the Lightning Round.

ThumbnailJosh Healey, an award-winning writer, comedic performer, filmmaker, and creative activist, is the executive producer and writer for Offsides Productions, creating digital series and films with performers like Daveed Diggs, Sarah Silverman, and W. Kamau Bell that have reached over 15 million viewers. Healey wrote and produced seasons of The North Pole, a comedic digital series with Rosario Dawson and Boots Riley about gentrification, global warming, and gluten-free donuts. A regular on NPR’s Snap Judgment, he has been featured in the NYT, SF Chronicle, and his 13-year-old nephew Brian Silverstein’s Youtube page, where it has at least 27 ‘likes.’ Born and raised in Washington, DC, these days he eats his daily bagel in Oakland, CA.

 

Reyna Amaya is a voiceover artist from San Francisco, CA. who’s recorded for films such as Jurassic World, Radio/TV commercials for Samsung, Bloomberg, Uber, etc. and Audio Description for Films/TV series. With a background in Stand-Up comedy and acting, she can be seen on TruTV, ApsireTV and YouTube in The North Pole Series seasons 1 & 2 (Executive Producer Rosario Dawson). She now lives in Oakland, CA and London, England.

 

 

 

Kari Kiernan  is a Mill Valley native who loves this library. She has been telling stories on Bay Area stages for the past 15 years and is always thrilled to come back to Naked Truth.

 

 

 

 

 

Julie Soller is an aspiring dog mom and the creator and host of StorySlam Oakland, Oakland's longest-running true storytelling show. She was a resident of Oakland for 10 years but recently moved to the Northern California coast to Fort Bragg, where she enjoys vegetable gardening, chicken-rearing, and the luxurious quiet. When not trying to homeschool her rescued cattle dog, she sneaks into unlocked cars and leaves the backseat full of zucchini.

 

 

Joshua Walters is a voice that explores “language, creativity, beatboxing, and madness” -TED. He has authored solo theater shows, multi-character plays, and first-person stories heard on NPR’s Snap Judgment. Walters is best known for his work on TED, for his talk entitled On Being Crazy Enough, now at 2 million views. Joshua is currently the founding director of Mad One Media a podcast showcasing, “creativity as practice for mental health”.
